We have stayed at this hotel before and had a great experience so I didn’t think twice before booking at a higher price than other comparable hotels. It is currently under renovation and we were not aware of this until check in. No cleaning service/fresh towels/made beds. Staff was unhelpful and rude. One staff member actually argued with us whether or not the ice machine was working on our floor. (It wasn’t. We went floor to floor looking for a working machine). Argued with another staff member about which restroom my son could use upon leaving the pool. The restroom she recommended was blocked off for renovation. She told us to go back up to our room while my son had already run ahead to use the not blocked off restroom that the staff told us was off limits. Would she have rather he peed in the pool? Or elevator ride to the third floor?
There is a way to renovate a hotel and keep customers happy. Discounted rates, clear communication, and helpful customer service. This experience was worth half of what we paid for it.
